The Adventure Friends: Fun Reading for Early Explorers

The Adventure Friends: Fun Reading for Early Explorers

My sister purchased this series of books for my daughter when she was 6 years old. They are part of the Scholastic Acorn book for readers between the ages of 5 and 7. We were already familiar with Acorn from the series UNICORN AND YETI, which was a favorite with my daughter. This is a great series to get your child's imagination going, with a lot of compass use, maps, and fort building. It is a great introduction to childhood adventures. I will list them in order of release with a short description from the publisher.

Treasure Map: An Acorn Book

Clarke is new to town and ready to explore. Miguel loves meeting new people and going on adventures. With their walkie-talkies and compass in hand, these new friends map out their neighborhood and search for hidden treasure!

Lost Dog: An Acorn Book

Miguel and Clarke help a neighbor find their lost dog, Spider. They grab their walking sticks and map. Then they set out to search the woods. Across four short stories, their adventure leads them to Spider – and to the perfect spot for a secret fort!

Bright Star: An Acorn Book

Miguel and Clarke are on the look-out for their next great adventure. They go to the library to find ideas. Clarke reads about spies and Miguel reads about space. Across four short stories, Miguel and Clarke use the power of their imagination to travel to outer space, explore a new planet, make a map of the stars – and they even encounter aliens!
